No boat may participate in sailing on the club water unless it satisfies the conditions of boat buoyancy laid down by the relevant Class Association. Please give boat details below (if applicable).

Personal effects are not insured by SSC and you are advised to take out your own cover for clothing and possessions. Valuables are not to be left in the changing rooms.

The member and any companions are required to have consideration for other people. If, in the club’s reasonable opinion, they behave in such a way as to cause or be likely to cause danger, upset or distress to any third party or to damage property, SSC is entitled, without prior written notice to terminate the use of the club and its facilities..

All members must accept responsibility for their own safety and follow the Standard Operating Procedures of the club.

Members (and their parents/carers in the case of members under 18) are deemed to be aware that sailing has inherent risks and that they accept those risks willingly. For example; drowning, hypothermia, fire on board and injury from the boom are all possibilities. Similarly, pontoons and the beach may pose a slip/trip hazard particularly when launching and/or recovering a boat. The standard Operating Procedures of the club should minimise these hazards but it is essential that all club members and visitors are aware of their existence and their own responsibility to implement sensible behaviours to minimise risk.

SSC shall not be liable for any injury, damage or loss which may result from the normally accepted risks of sailing. Members are advised to insure against injury or loss and arrange suitable medical cover.

Children under 16 must be supervised at all times by their parent/carer (except when participating in an RYA course eg Juniors).

Children should not be left ashore if parents/carers are sailing unless suitable arrangements for supervision have been made with an appropriate adult.

All members must comply with SSC rules at all times (Handbook available on Club website).

All members (except in exceptional circumstances) are expected to carry out Club Duties (dates to be agreed with member) which comprise of Officer of the Day, Assistant Officer of the day and manning rescue boats.

No boat may participate in sailing on the Club water unless it satisfies the conditions of boat buoyancy laid down by the relevant Class Association.
